How do I know that you’ll be the right photographer for the job?
Please look through our portfolio of work before you come to a decision. In fact, this is something you should do before making any decision. Do your research so that you are able to make an informed decision.
When/how can I get hold of you?
Preferably via email so that we have everything in writing. This also means that both Margot and I can attend to you if one of us is not available. Whatsapp and text messages are a good way to get hold of us in an emergency. I don’t always have my phone on me though, and when we’re on shoots, we don’t have access to our phones.
How long in advance must we book you?
Depends on the date. We have been booked a few days before an event. Whereas for the busier months, you would need to book us months in advance.
When is payment due?
A 50% non-refundable retainer fee is required within 12-hours from the time you receive your booking form. If, after 12-hours, no payment has been received, we reserve the right to automatically release your booking without notification. The remainder of your payment will be required on the delivery of your package. No materials will be released without payment settled in full.
When cancelling a shoot can I have my retainer back?
If done within 2 weeks or more, yes. This retainer ensures that we hold a date for you while turning down other business for that date.
Do you charge travel costs?
Yes, if you are further than 20kms away.
What do we receive?
This depends on the package you have booked. Some come with digital downloads, some come with all the images on a USB, and while still others come with a free photobook. Please enquire about the various options available to you.
On the day
What if we (the clients) are running late for our session?
Cooperation and punctuality are essential to accomplish the goals and wishes of all parties. Shooting will start at the scheduled start time and will end at the scheduled end time. Any time above and beyond that, will be charged without prior notice. Late shows of more than 30 minutes without prior notification, will be cancelled and rescheduled and an additional retainer fee may be charged for the new booking.
What time do you (the photographer) arrive at shoots?
We will be at your venue, ready to shoot at the time agreed to in your booking form. If you require us to be there 15-minutes before the start of your event to capture decor shots for example, you need to notify us of this beforehand so that we can bill you accordingly.
Is time spent on driving between locations for a Christening for example, included in the hours of coverage?
Yes. So please take into account travel time when deciding on how much coverage time you will be requiring our services for.
How many images can I expect?
This depends on the package you have booked. We only ever release images which we consider to be of good quality, unless otherwise stated. For events, the amount of images we capture depends on a few factors, namely: the hours of coverage / size of the event / day or night coverage / level of activity of the event etc.
When can I expect my images?
6-weeks (30-working days). During certain months of the year e.g. December, your orders could take a little longer as these are busy periods, and holidays also tend to put a spanner in the works. If you have ordered printed materials, this will also add time to your order.
What if I want my photos sooner?
An additional express fee is payable. Final payment would need to be settled before receiving your images.
What if I need a few pics for some canvases, personal projects, press release, magazine, social media site, competitions, invites, save the dates etc ASAP?
As above, an express fee will be payable.
Do you offer prints, canvasses and other photo gifts?
Yes we do. Costs vary and will gladly be provided on request. Please note that we will not be held responsible for the quality of printing not done through us.
Do you offer photobooks?
Yes we do a variety of photobooks. Some of our packages include a free photobook if you book us for a certain period pf time. Please note that we provide pre-designed books for all shoots, excluding weddings. Any input into the design of your photobook will incur design fees which are payable before work commences.
Do you deliver?
We don’t, however you’ll be glad to know that a minimal courier fee has been included in your invoice to ensure that your goods are delivered safely, timeously and conveniently to you.
What if I don’t want any of my images used on social media etc.
That is not a problem. We will be sure not to publish your photos anywhere. Bear in mind, that you will only get your images once they are ready. No sneak peeks/ previews will be provided over email etc. before your images are due.
